Our heavy almond stollen concoction has a moist, cakey base, a cherry jam filling and a thick, rich top layer that is tricky to describe... falling somewhere between marzipan, dense baked cheesecake and cookie dough in consistency, it has a rich almond flavour and is studded with cherries. The top is finished with a sprinkling of toasted almonds and icing sugar. An indulgent festive treat worth trying.
